FREE Idioms Activity to Use With Your Students

The importance of teaching idioms cannot be underestimated. As English teachers, we both have begun nearly every year of our teaching careers by teaching and reviewing some of the most commonly used idioms. It may not seem that important on the surface, but in reality, if students don't know that "it's raining cats and dogs" means that it's pouring rain outside, they will completely lose their understanding of the sentence, maybe even that part of the story they're reading.

We like to teach idioms using this fun activity that you can grab for FREE BY CLICKING HERE. It's a fun way to start the year. We've even included a list of some of the most commonly used idioms. Enjoy!

And P.S. How cute are these two student examples for "He has his head in the clouds" and "couch potato"? So fun and creative!
